Great breakfast buffet at Larry's!

We stayed at the Citadines Xian which included breakfast at Larry's Singapore Kitchen. The restaurant is in front of the Citadines. We were pleasantly surprised by a great breakfast buffet at Larry's. Among other things, there were several salads, grape tomatoes, watermelon, stirfry with ham and cucumber, fried rice, noodles and sauce, hard boiled eggs, bacon, ham, hot cereal, toast, little pastries, coffee, tea, juice, and a fellow cooking eggs to order! It was wonderful! Everything was served at the proper temperature and the service was terrific. The clients appeared to be locals. We were the only Westerners in the restaurant and we did not see any other hotel guests come through the connecting door. One man who appeared to be the owner made sure he came to talk to us before we left. He wanted to know if we were satisfied with the food and service. We were so satisfied with breakfast that we returned for dinner the same night. The menu was in Chinese and English with photos. For dinner, my husband had Singapore chicken with two sauces a sweet hoisin type sauce and a spicy sauce. It also included chicken soup, white rice, and baby bok choy. I had the pork and rice with baby bok choy, and hard boiled egg. The total cost including a beer and soda was 54RMB ($8). We thought it was a great value and the restaurant was very clean. We also liked that Larry's served disposable chopsticks. Some of the other restaurants in the area used the re-usable kind. Again, at dinner we were the only Westerners in the restaurant. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants good food, affordable prices, and a clean environment. This restaurant is very close to the Melody Hotel which in turn is close to the Drum Tower and the Bell Tower.
