Traveler Reviews

I love this place!

We lived in Winnipeg for 8 years and try to return to Grand Beach for summer holidays. We are making the trip once again this summer from Ohio. The beach is clean white sand, people are friendy, weather is hot and sunny what more could you ask for?

Fabulous Beach

We have a summer home adjacent to Grand Beach and can acess the east end of the beach with a bit of a hike. WOW-the sand is like sugar and the shore is home to all kinds of wild life and birds. On a walk this last weekend we saw deer, beaver, loons and a bald eagle all in one walk! I'm a beach-aholic and have been to amazing beaches all over the world-Greece, Italy, Israel, Cuba, Mexico, Cape Cod. Grand Beach ranks up there with the best of them (although the colour of the water can never duplicate the turquoise of the Caribbean)! Fishing for pickerel (Americans know it as wall-eye) is exceptional, wild blueberries are plentiful and there are excellent chip stands, bakeries and restaurants in the area. Miles of bike and walking trails, tennis courts, kayak and canoe rentals for the lagoons, water slides and a number of great golf courses in the vacinity. There's even a casino (if that's you're thing) which will open June 2005 on the drive up. Well laid out camp grounds, motels, B&Bs and private cottages for rent. Playboy once ranked it as a world's top five beach-for the bikinis I expect which are plentiful! But it is also a great family or senior vacation spot.

Great, best inland beach

We camped at the provincial park and also enjoyed the beautiful beach. Make sure you visit and stick around for a beautiful sunset on a spectacular beach. The park's reservation system for the campground is great, I wish MN state parks followed their lead. With the system, you pick the site you want with an accurate description of the location.
