Good Park, they stage concerts during the year. On Canada day they have a huge fireworks celebration. It's located right beside the Assiniboine Zoo so you can walk through the park straight to the Zoo. It's well taken care of and has a lot to offer.
Go see the Polar Bear

Since the zoo is opened year round, we thought there would be more inside to see. However, if you choose to go during the winter, dress for the weather as there is walking between the inside areas. The price was very reasonable. We also stopped at the conservatory, although nice and free, we thought it was small compared to others we have visited. They are working on an expansion to add a butterfly garden, so should be nice when finished. The kids loved the Polar Bear, and hot chocolate.

Yes it's true I do live here but for outsiders I would like to explain that this park is out of the ordinaty.It is a must see not only does it have a great zoo which is over a large outdoor area and contains many beautifull animals in open settings but also there is a great floral english garden which was recently visited by royals who had exclaimed in conversation that it was one of the highlights of their trip and when you pass through this garden it connects to the leo mal sculpture gardens which has many rock sculptures which were done by the artist of the same name and and from june to the end of august they have free outdoor music entertainment their in the sculpture garden areas. well and here's my favorite as i love music and the arts its the lyric theatre next to the park pavillion and it is an open outdoor theatre which has free stage shows which run from june through to september let me tell you I was there this year for the majority of the performances and they were well worth taking in, they even had the winnipeg ballet perform one week, now we are talking free and the music ranged from rock new and old,folk,jazz,country,celtic,calypso etc. I enjoyed it all. If you come to our city please enjoy this wonderfull first class park it is on the house how can you go wrong i haven't thankyou very much
