Traveler DescriptionAfter being leveled when the Nazis left, this whole neighborhood of cobblestone Gothic streets and alleyways, baroque palaces, numerous churches and tiered burghers' houses were masterfully reconstructed to reflect the atmosphere of bygone days.

I was in the old town in warsaw and have enjoyed it very much, nice area with beautifull buildings and nic people. I also have enjoyed my stay in one of the appartments of Old Town Atmosphere. It was a lovely appartment in the old town, even cheaper that a hotel.
And last but not least Old Town Atmosphere is a compagny you really can trust because they found my lost (expensive) pda and sent it by post to my home adress.
Old Town

The old town is situated right next to the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Completely destroyed during WWII and then rebuilt to historical expectations, it is truly magnificent. Plenty of shops and restaurants offering everything from Kababs, Mexican, Japanese, and traditional Polish fair. In the summer which Is when I visited last you can expect the square to be filled with art vendors, and setup european style with cafe's. Each cafe has some of the traditional Polish dishes, but also offer others. I had an excellent crawfish soup and crepes filled with polish mushrooms and mozarella cheeses. Beer is cheap at about $2 for a pint of Polish brew. My favorites are light beers like Zywiec or Ococim. The atmosphere was pretty safe, but beware that there are homeless people that walk up to you and ask for money. In the several times I was there on my last trip I didn't see anyone pick-pocketed and there were plenty of police as well as video cameras that had been installed since my last trip. The area like the rest of Warsaw was extremely clean. Price wise expect to pay about the same as in the U.S. for typical goods and especially liquor. Most vendors understand enough english to say buy something or order at a restaurant.
Definitely wander around

I really loved this very beautiful attraction in the very centre of Warsaw. You should visit it for sure if you are in Warsaw and enjoy its wonderful atmosphere sitting at some of the numerous cafes, of course, if you are fortunate enough to find places there, cause this attraction is always crowded with tourists.
