Great ambiance, good food

I went to this restaurant with my wife on our honeymoon, as we heard it was a must stop in Sao Paulo. The ambiance was great as the "outdoor" part of the restaurant was built around an old fig tree (hence the name, I believe). The service was great, the patrons and food were presented elegantly and there were some nice touches in the dishes served. I had a steak, as they beef was raised on a private farm and it seemed like the thing to do. Not the best steak I have ever had, but definitely tasty and worth the price. My wife had a Brazilian fresh fish that was great, I forgot the name though. We had some appetizers and wine and dessert as well, which were all nicely done. The only thing that was a little of an inconvenience was that they only took VISA or cash and I only had an American Express and didn't have hundreds of Reals handy. The staff said it happened frequently and since I had cash at my hotel, they had me pay the taxi driver who dropped us off at our hotel, the amount of the bill. This restaurant made for a pleasant night out in Sao Paulo!

Beautiful environment especially for a romantic date. The portions are huge. The beef was done fairly well although it was a bit salty.

Figuerira is a prime example of what makes Sao Paulo great, food, service, location, atmosphere (under the huge spreading fig tree). Its one of my favorite spots...

very beautiful place with a delicious food.Good place to see and to be seen.You can meet politics,artists and beautiful people.Ask for "Costela de tambaqui ", a very different kind of fish.
