Very good diving operator for Cayman Brac
Reviewed by A TripAdvisor Member on Aug 26, 2008

We were looking for a dive operator for our 10 day stay on Brac and found Indepth or Brac Reef as the major players. We discovered that Brac Reef had a fixed dive plan and schedule (typical cattle boat operation) with only 45 minute dives. My wife and I have been diving for many years and at many places and were getting tired of the ridged diving schedule, after all we are on vacation not at work. We check into Indepth and found there schedule was more accommodating to our needs. They leave around 10AM and return sometime in the afternoon. There is no fixed dive times or profiles, it is what you want to dive. They don't dive at all the popular dive spots since that is where the cattle boats are. They dive at places where cattle boats don't go or frequent. That is not to say you won't see what the other divers are seeing since the sites are what can fit around the island. Craig, Carl, Katie and Coconut are all serious about safety and making sure their guest are enjoying themselves. If you want anything just ask, you can't be shy on their boat and expect to get what you want without asking. One of our divers took classes from Katie and enjoyed them very much. A typical diving day is to show up at the shop, announce you are there, take your dive gear to the boat or ask for help if needed. Have a very short wait for them to setup new diver's gear if not already there from the prior day's dive. Then leisurely climb on-board and head out somewhere that has good diving. They were very good at helping us on and off the boat with the dive gear. All you have to do is plant your butt on the side and they will put on your gear, no worries or rush. Once you are done with your dive and reach the platform they will help you up any way they can and take off your gear. They will also help you into the water with your gear. All you do is sit and they do all the work, if Craig gets too lazy just squirt him with the hose ~:). The team really takes care of your needs and responds to any questions or issues you may have. My advise is to take care of all the reservations and money issues in advance or on the first day so you have all the business stuff taken care of and can now relax and dive. Did I mention that we dove Nitrox and made some 85 minute dives with average depth of 45 feet. Try that on a cattle boat!!!!! Bottom line is if you are tired of cattle boats that leave before you are awake and want more dive time, then don't hesitate to dive with Indepth. After all you are on vacation and need to purge the hustle and bustle of city life out of your system. Start relaxing and throw away the bloody clock! If you are budget tight think about your dive time, after all that is why you are diving. Cattle boats dive 45 minutes max for their price. Indepth charges more but they have almost twice the dive time. Both shops have the same commute time to dive sites, but Indepth lets you dive longer at the site. Now do the math and determine which place is the best buy for your money. I am very thrifty (boy does Craig know this) and that is why we dove with Indepth. If money is still an issue then you can reduce your number of dives with Indepth and still have the same bottom time in your dive logs as the cattle boats. A converted cattle boat diver. Allen & Ann

Simply the best

Dived for two weeks in late June / early July with Indepth. This was our second (but hopefully far from last) experience with them. Craig, Carl, and ?Dee? continue to run a top-notch dive operation ? the best I?ve experienced, and we?ve been to dozens of destinations. We were spoiled with their valet diving (equipment setup, lifting and rinsing). We had many dives longer than an hour and were never pressured to end our dives early. We dived the better, less used dive sites. The boat was never crowded. Once there were nine customers on board. All other days were fewer, including several times with only my wife and me, and once there was only me. Most dive operations won?t go out with only two divers, let alone one! Free nitrox, free snacks, staff who are knowledgeable, obviously enjoy diving, and sincerely care. I?m hard pressed to think of a negative. They might be the most costly dive operation on-island, but the value is more than worth it.

Tremendous Dive Adventure

To say that our experience with Indepth Watersports was fantastic seems a bit of an understatement. The crew at Indepth saw to our every need and wish. They treated us like we were royalty. My wife and I have been scuba diving since 1982 and have had the privilage to dive many different dive destinations but none of those destinations have provided the wonderful experience we received from Indepth. Craig, Carl and Dee are wonderful people. Each is dedicated to providing their customers with the safest and best possible diving each day. We will return! Pam and Ken Davis Houston, Texas

Great diving operation
Reviewed by A TripAdvisor Member on Jun 23, 2008

My wife and I and our two daughters, ages 12 and 15, dove with Indepth for about 8 days in June, most dives with Carl and D (Craig was out of town and took us out the last day). They were great hosts and run a full service operation with attention to every detail. The dive sites were all wonderful and they were always very informative about each site which added to the enjoyment. If you are diving in Cayman Brac, you owe it to yourself to dive with Indepth - I would recommend them to any level of diver. Our whole family looks forward to diving with Indepth again.
