Fantastic views

Brilliant views from the Top, and a choice of levels to look from. No queues even though we went on a holiday weekend, and is roomy at the top so everyone gets a great view - and of course being there you get to see the Empire State Building too.

Excellent Alternative to that other place!

We did both the Top of the Rock and Empire State building during our visit to New York City. Top of Rock wins hands-down! The staff is super friendly, the views are amazing, and the crowds are non-existent. It was one of my favorite experiences in the city, and I would easily recommend this as an alternative to the Empire State building. We went around noon on a weekday, and the ticket line was only about 5 minutes long.

Excellent Views, No Hassle

This was about the best thing we did on our holiday to New York. The views from the observation deck are brilliant. You have the Empire State Building on one side and Central Park on the other. The best time to go is on a clear day about 30 minutes before sunset. This means you get to see the sights in daylight then see the city's lights when the sun goes down.

Don't miss it. The views are fantastic! You can't beat this view of the Empire State Building and Central Park, etc. Not a big criticism, but you will not be able to see the UN. The view of the Chrysler Bldg is mostly obstructed except for the very cool top; but that's the best part and this is about as close as you can get to that. Three tips: 1) The level you get off at the top of the elevator is not as far as you can go. There are two more levels above this. I wish I had known this because the two lower levels are glassed in. At the very top, the view is unobstructed. Enjoy! 2) If you can't see the top of the building from the street because of clouds or fog, come back on a clearer day. 3) Before you do Top of the Rock, stop by Radio City Music Hall and make a booking for their back stage tour. Allow maybe 1 hour to 90 minutes to do Top Of The Rock and walk around the Plaza at Rockefeller Center, then come back to do the back stage tour at your chosen time.

A real highlight of our trip

From the red carpet to the top took only 20 minutes. The staff was incredibly polite and friendly. Do youself a favor, go here and then you can look south at the Empire State building, (which took 3 hours to get to the top), you won't be dissappointed!
