Highlight of our trip to Florence/Tuscany

My wife and I found it refreshing to get out of Florence for the day and into the countryside. We did the full-day uphill-downhill ride, and while I wouldn't say it was easy, it was perfectly manageable for anybody who's moderately in-shape. They provide van support in case you become too tired to go on (no one on our tour ever needed it), plus I think they offer a downhill-only ride once a week. The delicious lunch and wine and vineyard tour were a perfect reward for our uphill climb. This is well worth your time and money. A personal touch, as you're led on your bike ride by the owners of the company, Per and/or Melissa -- they were both very nice. Perfect for English-speakers looking for a fun and informative day out (although I'm sure its equally enjoyable for speakers of the other languages they cater to). I'm not a huge biker, but after this experience and a few others (Amsterdam!) I think renting a bike or touring on a bike is a really great way to see a different side of a city/region, provided the weather cooperates. The weather was beautiful for us in Tuscany!

Our favorite memory from the trip to Florence! Friendly guides, excellent food, beautiful landscapes and a little bit of exercise - couldn't have been better! We strongly recommend Per's Bike Rides!

My wife and I joined Per and Melissa for a bike tour of Tuscany on our honeymoon in September, and we both agree it was our favorite part of the trip! Per and Melissa are very friendly and attentive, and they do a great job of making the bike ride comfortable for people of all fitness and skill levels. Lunch and the winery tour at the Rossi villa was amazing, and the scenery was breathtaking. Not only did we have a great time, but we felt like we made new friends with our fellow travelers as well as with Per and Melissa. Worth every penny!

An Perfect Day in Tuscany!

Last week, my boyfriend and I went on the Grand Tuscan Villa and Wine Tour. It was a perfect day. The 9:30 start time was perfect, early enough to allow us to enjoy most of the morning, but late enough to allow use to get to Florence from Rome. It was easy to find Per and Melissa near Ponte Alle Grazie. The bikes were in great condition and fully equipped to take on the hills. The morning half of the ride was more difficult than the afternoon because it was uphill, but I found it to be just right. Per and Melissa had us take frequent stops and warned us about particularly challenging hills. While the steep parts of the hills were tough, they were over before I knew it and were broken up by less intense inclines. I am not a "biker," but this ride was a good fit for me. Per and Melissa adjust the ride to the needs of the participants. It is definitely a private tour catered to YOU! Speaking of catering, it was hard to think of any of the hill-induced pain when being served an incredible lunch in a beautiful and authentic villa! Ricotta cheese and honey, prosciutto, a Tuscan bread salad, fruit, cheese, seasoned sliced oranges, pears stuffed with gorgonzola...Yum. I was worried the lunch might be sandwiches or pasta, and I have celiac disease, so I cannot eat those things. However, after telling that to Melissa in an email, she and Per informed the host, who provided me with rice crackers and a caprese salad in addition to the items mentioned above. With proper notice to Per and Melissa, I was able to have an amazing and filling lunch that I could actually eat. Oh..and the wine! Two types of Chianti and a dessert wine...incredible. The downhill journey was heavenly. Spectacular views of the countryside while zooming down the hills. That feeling was unforgettable, and definitely my favorite part of the day. Incredibly nice people, beautiful views, amazing food, and just enough of a challenge. Arriving back in Florence at 4:30 allowed us to relax before dinner in the city. Per and Melissa recommended great restaurants and things to do in Florence. These are two people that don't work to live, they live to work. They are truly inspiring and so was this day trip! And it's not too expensive! And I'm a 20 year old college student, so I should know!!

Great bilke tour - would definitely recommend!

Per and Melissa run a great tour! They are very experienced riders and know how to conduct a tour. Very flexible with pricing and dates and go out of their way to make it a great experience. Definitely a lot of work for your legs, but so worth it! Would highly recommend!
