Probably the most iconic sight in Sydney the BridgeClimb is an amazing experience.
There are two experiences you can do, the Discovery or The Classic Tour. I arrived early and without any problems was rebooked on to an early tour.
The first half hour or so is about getting kitted out, medical check, breathalyser test (no alcohol drinking the night before!) and familiarisation check.
Then its off and out to start your climb and a fantastic experience it is to. You;re not allowed to take much with you so no cameras, but the guide takes pictures of you throughout the tour (and you can of course buy them at the end - surprise surprise!)
The whole tour lasts 3.5hours so make sure you have a lot of time and I would recommend doing it earlier in the day before it gets too hot!!
fun fun

I did the Bridge Climb on 7th October and all I can say is WOW. The operation is so professional - the entire tour is run like clock work ensuring you are 100% safe and aware of what is going on all of the time.
Our Climb leader was knowledgeable and lovely and certainly added to the experience.
I started smiling when I got kitted out in those stunning grey and blue overalls and I don't think I stopped smiling until I got home that night.
I'll be going back to do a night time walk for sure.
Fantastic!!!

We had a climb booked for 9.35 am, and when we arrived to check in we were told we could do the 9.15 which we did. In groups of 12 max., you are first taken to a room to fill in a medical questionnaire, as well as being breathalysed. After this you introduce yourself to the rest of the group, and are then issued climbing suits. You can get a free locker where you have to put everything (watches, wallets coins etc). Pretty much the only thing you can keep on is glasses/sunglasses. You have to go through a metal detector. The tour guide then kits you out with a harness, and you go onto a small mock up of a ladder/walkway so you know how the harness works-its very simple. You get issued lanyards to secure spectacles/sunglasses, hats (provided) to clip to your suit. The radios are then attached to your belly, everyone helping each other to install everything. Throughout all of this the guide is talking you through everything and its all made very clear.
Its then time to go up the bridge! As per previous reviews the first and last bits (first and last 10 minutes) are the worst bits if you are nervous about heights, as I am.
You latch onto the fixed line, and go out onto the bridge through a tunnel. As you exit the tunnel you walk underneath the actual bridge roadway, but can see the road below the bridge. This first bit was the worst for me, not remotely scary enough to turn back but if you are VERY scared of heights you may want to think twice. After a few minutes you arrive at a series of ladders which take you up to the actual arch of the bridge - from this point on all nervousness disappears! We had a wonderful sunny day, with almost zero wind. The arch is wide with handrails, and the walk up is very easy physically (the 4 flights of ladder climbing made my wife?s legs a little tired). There are stops on the way when the guide points things out, and when you are close to the top of the arch you cross over to the Opera House side of the bridge?this bit is pretty high and you can see through the walkway but by this point you are pretty used to it and its OK. After a few pictures you then carry on to the very highest point, 440 feet up!! The views are fantastic, as mentioned we got a very bright and clear day which helped.
After crossing back over to the side you first started on, you then make your way down the bridge. Again the views and the commentary are excellent! When you get back inside you are shown how to disconnect everything from your suits, and then get changed and look at the photos. We paid $179 each for the climb, and then $30 for the photos (you get a group photo free). We opted to buy 4 photos printed on 1 A4 sized sheet.
Maybe the climb price is a little expensive but it?s a fantastic experience and a great sense of achievement especially if you were a bit nervous to start with. The whole thing is very professionally run, safety is a top priority and there really is no way of falling off!!
The only very small suggestion we would have would be that water could be provided when you get back after the climb, it was warm when we climbed and apart from very early on and at the end (when you get a quick swig from a water fountain) there are no opportunities to drink.
This is a highly recommended thing to do when in Sydney, and the sense of achievement afterwards far outweighs any nervousness you might have.
Discovery Climb - Well Worth It!

My husband and I did the Discovery Climb and loved it. The views are AMAZING and you learn so much (both about the bridge & Sydney and surrounds). A little expensive but delivers and unforgettable experience. Highly recommend the Discovery Climb where you climb more in the bridge than the Bridge Climb (where you're climbing only on the outside of the arch). The two climbs peak at the same place, so you don't miss anything -- in fact, you get to see a lot more of the bridge on Discovery. They tell you "it's more adventurous" but that doesn't mean it's more strenuous, scary, etc., just a lot of fun!
