The World of Birds is a place for compulsory visit to Cape Town. It is an organized place, where the visitors can interact with the animals, walking in the middle of all kinds of birds and touching the monkeys.
Important tip 1: take a raincoat because the weather in Cape Town is very unstable. Prevented with a raincoat, the ride is not even a little less interesting.
Important tip 2: to reach the World Of Birds, there is a regular bus service to two specific routes, which goes in several tourist sites. One is the WOB.
Important tip 3: book at least 2 hours a day to stay within the WOB.
A Wonderful Place to Visit

World of Birds was a wonderful stop on our trip. I have been to aviaries and bird parks before, but there is nothing like World of Birds, with the large number of bird species. The entire park has over 100 different aviaries, with many walk in aviaries, filled with birds of many colors, shapes, and sizes. It?s a delight and a highly recommended attraction for all ? children and elderly alike.
Get Reeeally Close to Animals

This is a must-do if you're an animal lover. My husband and I even enjoyed World of Birds over Table Mountain, if that gives you any indication! Coming from the US, there's nowhere like World of Birds back home; we were able to get inside the cages with almost all of the birds (including huge hornbills, turkey vultures, and owls). We were amazed at the level of contact they allowed with the animals. The highlight, of course, was the squirrel monkey enclosure. The monkeys were more than willing to let you pet them, but be forewarned that they are also more than willing to jump on you and chew your hair. Make sure you're up for a close encounter before entering the enclosure! For an animal lover like myself, this was a fantastic experience.
Hands on with birds and monkeys

Went there with the family in July 2007 while visiting Cape Town. Lots of birds, and lots of enclosed areas where you can get close to the birds (and they to you, like it or not) and monkeys. Was fun, would pick this over the aquarium every time.
