Exelent srevice, imaginative personell for our personilized menu with wines, never a waiting moment for any help. Simply a magnificent restaurant!! And we especially liked the garden with our starters.

A taste of Norway

We always take friends from abroad to Det Gamle Raadhus either for lunch or dinner. This is a very cousy and pleasant restaurant in the old part of Oslo, placed optimally in combination with a sightseeing walkaround at e.g. the old Akershus Festning (fort). The food is prepared with respect to traditions but also with a developed gastronomic touch. Our foreign friends from different countries are always pleased to have either lunch and/or dinner based on real Norwegian raw materials and recipes. So also this year when our Portugese friends came to Oslo and had both different fish and seafood, reindeer and strawberry soup. The service was excellent and both the waiters and the chef showed a great interest to give us the best. As always!

Traditional with a twist

This wonderful traditional, yet very creative restaurant really deserves a visit, both for its excellent food and good service and for its interior and exterior. In summer the pleasant garden is a peaceful place to retreat from the buzz of the city to enjoy delicious dishes based on Norwegian ingredients.

I have celebrated my 40 years birthday at Det Gamle Raadhus, we where a party of 12 persons 8 adults and 4 children. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the most important an excellent kitchen. We started the celebration in the restaurant "outdoor department? having some light refreshments, for the dinner we moved inside to experience the tranquility of the restaurant. The dinner was 4 courses for the adults and a special menu for the children. It was simply excellent!
