peaceful relaxing and beautiful

Even though we're not really art lovers this museum was well worth the stop and we ended up staying here longer than some other larger museum (such as Orsay). The gardens spread out the statues nicely so that you can see them easily without ever being crowded, there are numerous benches to sit on, a nice cafeteria with tables (and rest rooms) to the side of the garden. Inside of course it's a little tighter but still plenty of space given to each of the works, the Kiss being an obvious favorite inside, Gates of Hell, and the Thinker ouside. it's included in the museum pass, even if it weren't it's worth the admission and just a nice break from some of the more hectic spots you're likely to visit.

so peaceful

I love this museum! It?s so different from all the other museums in Paris. Some of the sculptures are kept inside a mansion on the grounds and some are kept outside in the rose gardens. The gardens are the best part, I even laid down for awhile to read a book. The roses are gorgeous and Rodin?s work is truly impressive. Go later in the day and you won?t have to wait in line.

Nice change from stuffy museums

Went to the Rodin Museum in late June. It is a wonderful change from stuffy museums. As soon as you pay, you go straight to the garden. This has a beautiful garden with The Thinker and The Gates of Hell, with a house with more sculptures inside. Anyone under 18 is free. It was a somewhat hot day when we went, so a few extra benches in the shade would have been nice. At least with a smaller and beautiful museum you wouldn't get lost as you do in the Louvre. The sculptures are amazing.

I agree with the reviewer who recommended the Rodin Museum for an arrival day destination...The Musee d'Orsay is too much in my opinion for jetlagged eyes and feet to cover upon arrival..It demands a rested approach...In addition to the photographic opportunities the Rodin affords, it's simply a nice place to sit in the garden and enjoy the incredible beauty of the garden and sculptures all about...I've had delicious lunches at the cafe in the garden...Ham from the Savoie, gruyere cheese, and bread from Poilane...You can buy a museum pass at the entrance ticket kiosk and that line is not that long in my recollection....Then you'll have it for the rest of your Paris visit to use in other museums and attractions..It will save you lots of time at other museums like the d'Orsay where the lines are also long and you'll probably visit more attractions simply because you have the pass and more time to use it...It comes in varying lengths...like 1-day, 3-day, and maybe a 5-day...I always take the 3-day....You must enter the date of first use but don't do it til you're actually entering the first museum...Then the meter is running...So you'll be busy going to places for a day or three...

One of our favorites!

My husband and I visited Paris in May and the Musee Rodin was one of our favorites. On the morning of our first full day after arriving from Boston, we attempted the Musee D'Orsay. The crowds and jet lag hit us about 30 minutes into our visit there so, feeling quite overwhelmed, we quickly finished our self-guided tour and headed to the Musee Rodin gardens. Wow! In our fatigue, this was just what we needed! We grabbed a drink at the snack stand in the gardens and had the most delightful time sitting in the shade and strolling through the gardens. They are so beautiful and such a fun way to see such amazing works of art! Some of my favorite pictures from our trip to Paris were taken in the front of The Thinker with the Eiffel Tower in the background. After an hour or so of enjoying the gardens, we toured the inside of the museum. It was also a treat! The Musee Rodin gardens are a "must see" - they are an oasis! As a side note, however, we were quite glad to have the Museum Pass as the line for non pass holders was all the way down the street.
