We visited DisneySea in December 2009 and whilst our 16yr old and 13yr old were really looking forward to going, we adults were a little less enthusiastic about shuffling our travel weary feet around a huge themepark.
Having only one day to dedicate to this activity we had huge debates about which theme park, Disneyland or Disneysea, to visit. We are extremely glad we chose Disneysea as we all had a fantastic day. Everyone in the park seemed to be having a good time, with even the most serious looking adult getting dressed up in the cute hats, gloves and other souveniers on offer. Lots of young families, teenagers and older adults having fun around the place.
As it is a water themed park we were a little worried about getting wet, since it was a little cool outside, but the only ride we had any water fall on us in was the "Stormrider" and that was only minimal misting.
There were plenty of people in the park with some rides stating waits of around 45 minutes, but you can bypass the queues by obtaining the free "fastpass" tickets found nearby the ride entries which will allow you a shorter wait at a later specified time (usually within an hour or two). They do limit you to one fastpass ticket per hour or so which is a very fair kind of system.
On entering the park there is a signboard which posts estimated waiting times for all the rides (these are shown at the ride entries as well) and we were handed free, detailed park maps (available in English) which were very useful.
After perusing the map we decided to jump in the queue for the "Tower of Terror" ride (near the American Waterfront area) as the morning parade was on and we thought the queue might be a little shorter than usual. We didn't understand much of the briefing as it was all said in Japanese, but the ride was good fun. The only other ride which limited us in this regard was the wordpuzzle tour at Leonardo's Challenge (all in Japanese).
We took a tour of the park on the "Disneysea Transit steamer line" which gave us an opportunity to check out what appealed to us and work out a game plan for the rest of the day.
The park opened early (I think around 7.30am) and closed at 11pm on the day we were there so we had plenty of time to do and see everything we were interested in. We left a little early at 9.30pm to ensure our connecting train back to Tokyo was still running.
The park is extremely clean and we were blown away by the attention to detail in every thing in the park, the animatronics in the rides were amazing (check out the Indiana Jones models in the "Temple of the Crystal Skull" ride - Wow!
There are plenty of toilet facilities, all "western style" and there were lots of bins around the place for rubbish disposal too (a rare treat in Japan where you are expected to carry your rubbish until a bin is found - usually in your hotel room).
Definitely plenty of photo opportunities in this park. Our feet were no less weary when we left but we were extremely glad we let the kids lead us to Disneysea, it was definitely a highlight of our trip to Tokyo, one I would recommend to anyone young at heart in Tokyo.
Disney Sea- worth visiting!

Disney Sea is a great attraction for visitors of all ages! Out of all the Disney parks I have been to, Disney Sea ranks the highest. The park is very easy to get to by the JR train. You can even get to take a ride on the Disney-themed train to get from Disney land to Disney sea. The windows are shaped like the iconic Mickey heads!
Differing from the Disneyland area, here you can find a whole new world under the sea (Mermaid Lagoon), Aladdin's Arabian nights (Arabian Coast), go 20,000 leagues under the sea (Mysterious Island), and more. The park is set up into themed ports and very easy to navigate. Be sure to check out the many gift shops and pick up a little something.
I liked how there were familiar rides like the Tower of Terror but jammed packed with new shows and rides that you can't find in the US. The gift shops are full of phone-charms (very popular in Japan) and awesome clip-on accessories for hair like Cheshire Cat ears, Winnie the Pooh ears, etc. Very cute and fun! Lots of people get into the spirit and wear Disney merchandise at the park. Everyone looks like a character.
As with any Disney park, it is advisable to visit during weekdays. Look out for specials on ticket prices. When I went to Disney Sea in the spring there was a discount for female students. This was a promotion targeted towards students on school breaks. The campaign event even put out a new selection of items in the gift shops.
If you are in Tokyo and love Disney, I would highly recommend this park. Disney Sea is definitely something to check out. Be sure to eat some of the delicious popcorn while you watch the nighttime fireworks. Enjoy!
Best Disney Park of All!!!

My sister and I almost decided not to visit Disneysea when we planned out trip to Tokyo- purely based on the fact that we have previously been to Disneyland in Anaheim - and found the Park tacted onto Anahein Disneyland (the park California Adventure) to be a masive let down.
However... we are so very glad we did visit Disney Sea in Tokyo - What an AMAZING park - its huge has so many attractions that are just so fantastic - not to mention rather than being at actual Tokyo Disneyland, the Indiana Jones ride is actually located at DisneySea instead!!!
We heard that this park had alot more money spent on its making than other Disney Parks - and this was very obvious in the level of detail in all the attractions and scenery, it was just an absolute fantastic day that really impressed us both! This was of course hightened by the brilliant staff members who go out of their way to say hello to you and direct you to where youd like to go.
Other things we particularly enjoyed were: The ride 10,000km beneath the sea - what an amazing ride under the water, so detailed it was breathtaking! Journey to the centre of the earth was brilliant, Our all time favorite indiana Jones lived up to all expectations and we loved all of the other rides also.
In terms of waiting times for rides - we had no problem at all, we were prepared to wait for up to and hr and a half given it was mid season - however we never waited longer than 40 minutes without the use of fastpass and we tried to utilize fastpass when we could which ment we never waited longer than 15mins for a ride!!!
Overall - this park is great and can be done in 1 day - but we wouldnt have felt complete without our trip to Actual Disneyland so we also went there! So id say 2 days - one for each park!
a must go place for an experience

just come back from an amazing trip to japan. DisneySea was part of it. As compare to Disneyland, DisneySea is more suitable for general as there are lots of rides for adult too and there is a live performance at afternoon and night. Try it yourself and moreover the location is convenient and even nearer from jurong to paris ris :) But strongly recommend to go christmas period which is around now
Be prepared to queue!!!!!!

We paid £39 to get in but only got to go on two rides.
Although queues are expected at these types of venues, the queues in this park were a complete joke.
For "Journey to the Center of the Earth" we queued for 3 and a half hours for a ride which wasn't even worth the time of day. There was no indication at the start of the ride showing the estimated queuing time.
We were stuck in an underground cave and everyone around us was looking depressed.
Definetly took the fun out of the ride as we'd lost interest by the time we got to the front.
Queues for toilets and very long queues for anywhere serving food!
Honestly, the queues I experienced here were much worse than those in any other Disneyland parks I've been too, including Florida.
