We got to Caruso's around 7:30 on a Tuesday night and it was very crowded. We had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table, but it was worth it. The maitre d' was very accommodating and offered me his chair to wait as I had injured my leg earlier on our trip. We each ordered one of the "light" dishes - very generous portions. My wife had trouble finishing all of here chicken, so I helped her out. It was very warm inside, candles on the tables and there did not appear to be any way to open windows. There were also tables upstairs, but we remained on the ground floor. If you obtain one of the Visitor's Guides to Reykjavik, there are coupons in the back which will give you a 10% discount on your meals at Caruso's.
Good food and good value for lunch

Ate lunch at Curoso twice. The pizza is good and all the dishes seemed to be generously portioned. I had an excellent mushroom soup and fresh tuna.
A little flat but the service was good

The core issue here is that this is an Italian restaurant in Iceland. That being said, the service was good with the waiter very friendly and my prawn pasta was more than enough food even if it lacked a little bit of flavour. Overall it was expensive for 2 pastas and 2 glasses of wine but if you are looking for central and easy then Caruso is fine.
Good, pleasant surroundings

Good food, if not the best choice. Service pretty decent, nice atmosphere and (relatively) cheap too. Draft beer was the best I had in Iceland!
