Reviewed by A TripAdvisor Member on Sep 17, 2008

i travelled to levi in december 2005 for my wedding. we got married in the kota tent. i travelled in a reindeer sleigh with my daughter and my husband arrived on a snow skidoo. it was magical. even my 20 month old grandaughter loved it. the place is just amazing. we have booked again for our third anniversary this year and cant wait. we stayed in the immelmoket cabins, deep in the wonderful snow covered forest which was just fantastic.

K5 Levi Lapland
Reviewed by A TripAdvisor Member on Mar 27, 2008

We stayed at the K5 in Levi on a half board basis and it was brilliant. The room for 2 adults and 2 children was spacious with an upstairs mezzanine (gated at the top and bottom for safety). The room was cleaned every day (Excellent when you have untidy 6 year old twins!) and we had a terrific view. The staff were really helpful and we had a ski locker in the garage that was free of charge. There was also a kids playroom with loads of toys and a TV and playstation. My husband and I enjoyed the meals but the children were a bit fussy and didn't eat much so I think our next visit will be self catering because of this. It was about a ten minute walk to zero point and the ski school. I would recommend borrowing a couple of toboggan's from the hotel and pulling the ski boots and ski's along rather than trying to carry them as we did on the first day! There are lockers at zero point to put your walking boots in which is really handy. The ski lessons were only an hour an a half but really beneficial. We had such a laugh as well. Our ski instructor Laura was fantastic and very patient! The children went to kids ski school and they were on the same slopes as us for learning to ski which is great for watching their progress as well. We travelled with Inghams and the reps were superb. We booked four trips with them and none of them disappointed us. All in all, this is one of the best family holiday's I've ever had.

Magic - But Dont Tell Everyone

Stayed In Levi in Jan 28 Feb 2 2008 Went with Inghams - good service. Huskies brilliant, owner really cares about the animals and a definite must. Reindeer everywhere no need for them to pull us around, even wonder pass the log cabin we stayed in munching snow. Lappish night the jury says no thanks - food, warm and stodgy, booze, expensive, entertainment good for dreamers. Skiing - slopes to yourself long T Bar rides but you can go from one side to the other easily as a beginner. Lovely cafe at the bottom of slopes when you been frozen on T Bar and downhills. Snow mobiles, right laugh, passsenger gets best view. Hull Poro live music - loud and funny - back to the eighties. Irish Bar, top chill out bar. Sea food steak house, top fish bar and nice food, supermarket handy and cheap, good selection. Log Cabins - fan dabby dosey - Red Squirrels on your terrace eating nuts - even try and come in the warm if you leave door open. Flights and transfer time 20 minutes - few cranes building a new complex but too busy staying warm to notice. Cross Country skiing nails overtaken by many a Finnnish Super Gran. Finns very friendly and polite, cant understand why we go there for a holiday but they all have holiday homes there, lucky people. Top tips get a sledge and go down the runs when they close at night. Have a great time.

Levi is worst ski resort in Finland
Reviewed by A TripAdvisor Member on Feb 17, 2008

Levi is most famous Ski resort in Finland. There is 44 pistes and 27 lifts. Most of the lifts are T-bar lifts or so called sompa-lifts. There is only one chairlift and two gondolas in Levi. Its taking ages to get end of the lift ride and after that you usually need to go a bit uphill to get on pistes again. Chairlift on the main slopes is fast and nice so its shame they don't have more these similar turbo chairlifts. Gondolas are located to main slopes and World cup slope. Main slope gondola is small and doesn't serve skiers at all because its for exhibition centre. World cup gondola is okay but in busy time there will be loads of wating and long queues. Pistes itself are short and mainly narrow, suitable for beginners. Even slopes marked black sign are not too hard. South slopes are ment for families, slopes next to lifts 5 and 6 for long ride and Snowpark for fooling around. After long lines, long journey to top of the lift and trying to get start of the piste you find a bit anoying that there is actually sand and small rocks on the slope. Main slopes are probably worst, I got huge scratches to my snowboard there because of the gravel. Today I found some gravel from other pistes as well and staff wasn't doing anything when I asked them can they do something for it. So after you've ruined your brand new snowboard or skis, you are pissed off and trying to get off the slopes to complain you need to use flat transition route to Levi Centre. If you are snowboarding you need to release strapping and just have a little walk to get back to steeper slope again. At the Zero point service building and all lift staff was unfriendly and not ready to answear questitions. Staff at the Zero point Shop were nice instead. In December there is only few slopes and lifts open but all the slopes opens around week 7 and they're open till week 18. Busiest time is from mid Feb till end of the season because of public holidays in Finland. Anyway, I dislike Levi mainly because staff is unfriendly, slopes have been in bad or very bad condition, slow lifts and flat transit routes. Hopefully Levi improves a lot after feedback what they get but it seems they're just thinking about money.

A Magical place
Reviewed by A TripAdvisor Member on Feb 18, 2007

This place is just fantastic. I thought maybe it would be a bit poor, as we had missed out on the exciting Christmas rush, but I was wrong. Inghams, the company we booked through were caring and very organised. We stayed in the big North Star Chalet, and it was a perfect warm winter cabin. The ski hire, and lessons, and staff at Levi were very friendly, and the prices for hire were reasonable. Lots of bars, restaurants, shops and activities. One thing to warn you of though. There are hundreds of Snow Mobiling companies to chose from if you fancy yourself a bit of a petrol head, and I would go for one recommended by your reps. We went with Enovene, recommended by the tourist board, and they are a very poor company indeed. A serious lack of safety training. Our guide had no first aid knowledge, and was also unaware of an accident because he was looking after 12 snowmobiles. This could have been prevented, and I advise if you are going to any extra excursions, do some research first. Otherwise the rest of the resort was wonderful, and skiing was fantastic!
