Excellent. Lorcan, the tour guide, is totally professional and theatrical. He was extremely knowlegable and passionate about a defining period in Irish history. I would recommend this tour to all.
A walk through a proud history

This was the most rewarding experience on our recent trip to Dublin.
I've always been proud of my Irish heritage, and the 1916 rebellion was something that I have always been interested in. But this tour, (on our day, given by a man named Lorcan Collins), was an eye-opening look into the events and people leading to that critical time in Irish history. The tour took us to places which would never be found by an average tourist, places that were crucial in the formation of what Ireland is today.
Lorcan's knowledge and passion for the subject made it all the more fascinating, and I walked away, prouder than ever of my ancestry.
Put this tour on the top of your "to-do" list while in Dublin.
Best Thing to Do in Dublin, well besides the Bars

This was by far the highlight of my trip during the daytime. The tour guide Lorcan, was full of information and was absolutely entertaining. He was full of the "Irish Spirit" with quick-witted humor. This tour was very informative and really highlighted some of the key events in Irish history. I would definitely recommend doing this tour before visiting Kilmainham Goel, as it will serve as a foundation of information to build upon. The tour costs 12 Euro and you can pick it up at the International Bar on Wicklow Street near Grafton Street. One note, the website for the tour, says it starts at 11:00, however, when we got there the sign outside the bar said it started at 11:30; it did indeed start at 11:30. Also, try and go during the week. On the weekend it is much more crowded. Lorcan said he normally has 6-8 people on his tour. On Saturday my wife and I were two of about 25, making it more difficult to hear and interact. Lastly, you will be at the International Bar for about 30 minutes, getting background information prior to starting the walking part of the tour, so you will have plenty of time to grab a pint.
Loved it!

I'm not a great history buff by any means. I did read up on some Irish history before our trip but I am a rather reluctant student when it comes to history - it's often just too dry for me.
But this tour personalized what was such an important event in Ireland's history in a way that completely captured my attention. All the personal anecdotes and humourous stories shared on this tour brought history to life so that even I was completely enthralled for the entire 2 hours, and would have wished for more.
Enough so that now I think I'll go back to the books and do some more reading! Really inspiring.
Best tour guide in Dublin

Please do this tour. Of course, do it for the history lesson that is the 1916 rebellion. But do it mainly to see the clever performance of it's tour guide named Lorcan. He wrote the book on the subject so he knows it well. His point of view on the matter is insightful, opinionated, and great entertainment. You will walk to the sites of the battlles and birthplaces, but Lorcan will spring them to life for you in a way that makes the entire tour feel like a living history class.
