Hello Mike, We just wanted to tell you Thank You for the terrific time we had on the OGB. We also want to give a Big Thank You to Julio (our captain) and Luis (our deckhand). They were great. It was our second day on the boat and we were already 3 hours into our 4 hour trip. We had given up and were satisfied that we still enjoyed our time. But then Luis yells up to Julio to turn the boat and head in the direction he was pointing. Boy he had some good eyes that day. As we hit the location Luis pointed at, we hit not one and not two but three Fish On. I do love my husband as it was already decided that I would get to reel in the first fish. Thanks to the reel chair I reeled in two before he reeled in one. I know, I know, I had the advantage. As you can see in the pictures, we had a great time. Anyone planning on going fishing while in Punta Cana, I would highly recommend Mike's Marina. Our crew continuiouly changed the bait and scouted for fish the entire time we were out at sea. A Fantastic Time Deep Sea Fishing

Date: August 3, 2008 Our trip started out by, a private airconditioned taxi, picking us up at our resort at a pre-arranged time. We went in the afternoon. When we arrived at Mike's Marina, we were escorted to the 33ft. Phoenix " OGB", where we met Mike. We were helped on to the boat and set out for our 4hour shared charter. This boat was very clean, you could eat off the deck!! This charter usually will have 6 people fishing, plus 2 crew. We were lucky, there were only 4 people fishing, plus the 2 crew members. I had never been deep sea fishing before, so I didn't have a clue as to what was going to happen. Well, things started to happen very quickly. The one crew member was driving the boat and the other was setting the lines. Boy, he sure knew what he was doing, I was amazed!!! While this was going on, we were offered a drink, soda, water or beer. I'll take the beer...thank you!! So, now the rods are all out and I ask the stupid question, "now what do we do?". Hubby said, we're trolling and hopefully we'll catch a fish!! Ok! We were told that 4 boats had gone out that morning and no one had caught anything! After about 2 hours we had a nibble, but that was all. I was really disappointed, I really wanted my Hubby to catch something, anything! An hour later, sure enough, he got a bite! Well, you'd think someone was having a baby!!! The crew went from 0 - 60 !!! I just backed up and got out of the way. The other rods had to be realed in and Hubby got in the chair and the fight was on!! The crew was excellent!!! One was taking care of the boat, forward, backward, to the left, to the right. The other was helping Hubby, real, don't real, real, don't real! It was fantastic!!!! He ended up with the catch of the day, a White Marlin about 50lbs and about 5-6 ft. long. I am so glad we decided to go Deep Sea Fishing and I was very impressed with Mike and his crew!! When I was making arrangements for this trip, I was emailing Mike from home (Canada) and he answered promptly!! I called Mike when we arrived in PC and he returned my call promptly! When we return to PC next year, we will be Deep Sea Fishing with Mike's Marina!! We are very pleased with the sevice provided. We only spoke to Mike a few times, but he was very warm and friendly!! I highly recommend fishing with Mike!!! Thanks for a wonderful first experience Mike!

Memories to Treasure

We knew that our trip back to Punta Cana in December 2007 had to include a fishing charter. We did our research and felt that Mikes Fishing Charter was our best choice. Everything we read was very positive and our experience with Mike confirmed our readings. There were 4 of us on the charter and if I recall correct, we booked a 4 hour charter. Mike arranged transportation that picked us up at The Bahia Principe and returned us there as well. When we arrived at the Marina - Mike was there to personally greet us! - Really made us feel welcome. The boat was top notch and perfectly outfitted. His captain and crew were outstanding - worked the lines and we could all tell, that their objectives were to make us as comfortable as possible and to do everything possible to ensure we caught fish - and we did !! - 2 beauties with the prize being a great wahoo !! I have been on charters in Lake Ontario and in Florida and I have never seen a crew that worked so hard and paid such attention to detail in every aspect one could imagine. Based on our experience, I would have no hesitation in recommending Mikes services to any one who asks. It certainly provided memories to treasure and we all just love looking over the photos every time the 4 of us get together - can hardly wait to do it again !! John Brooklin

My first Billfish!

My fishing experience with Mike's Marina was a very pleasant one. He made it completely easy for me to make it happen from booking the trip in advance, to being picked up at my hotel, delivered to the marina, and returned to my hotel. The boat I fished on was a 33' Phoenix that handled the seas very well since they were running 4 to 6 with some 8 footers mixed in. The captain and mate were very professinal and supplied us with top notch gear. They gave us the full half day on the water with a short run to the fishing grounds. I have been around boats most of my life and have fished on the east coast of the U.S., the Florida Keys, and Mexico and would have to say that Mike runs a professional operation. I have been on plenty of charter boats and this was the first time any drinks were supplied for us. I was fortunate enough to land my first billfish which was a nice sized white marlin, and the two guys with me each got to catch dorado. It was an enoyable day and a must for any fisherman visting Punta Cana.

My son has fished with Mike the last three years in Punta Cana! He started when he was three. He has caught grouper and last year at the age of six he caught a Baracuda. Or we think it is a baracuda? My son loves to fish and this is always the highlight of his trip! Mike is wonderful to adjust our trip to suit my sons age. I have always prebooked and have had no problems. I enjoy prebooking as my son looks so forward to it. I have added a pic of his catch last year! If you go on Mikes website he has Brandon's first catch (when he was three) on the site plus lots of other pics of happy large catches! Thanks Mike!
