So called the most ancient theme park in Europe. I think it is more like a city park for killing the time&relax, rather than a tourist site for foreign people.
Been to the Disney in Paris also, I prefer the Disney.
Lots of of chinese style buildings in Tivoli including a stage with peacock background, the Great wall, Panda street etc. a little bit suprise with that! as a Chinese.
Crowded, noisy just like a small Disney (with some good things)

I'll keep this short, but if you are like me and don't like hordes of people waiting to get on some cheesy ride, skip this place.
I just don't see the attraction, unless you are completely bored in Copenhagen.
The only bright side are the musicians and other acts that are scattered throughout the "gardens". Some of them were quite good and worth listening to or watching.
We did not sample the restaurants in the park, but I doubt they are any better than the others in town.
People watchers paradise

As the daughter of a Dane, who emmigrated to south africa in the 50's, i was determined to go back to my roots and meet my "viking" part of the family. They took me to Tivoli and i absolute loved it. The history is fantastic. It has the oldest Roller Coaster in the Northern Hemisphere which still runs on wooden tracks, the gardens are breathtaking, but i do say, go at night when the lights are on. The rides are great for the kids, there are fantastic restuarants, and because of the fantastic public transport, you can enjoy a few beers and then go back to the hotel. It's a little on the expensive side, but well worth the trip. Tivoli rates 5* along with Rosenborg and Amalienborg Palaces. Best holiday i ever had, and my favourite country so far. Nyhavn also a fantasic place to visit during the day.
Give it a miss along with the little mermaid...

Now when you think about Copenahgen you think Tivoli Gardens but in all honesty you can give it a miss. It's much smaller than you think and is really some rides, restaurants, food outlets not really any gardens at all.
The lights are lovely and if you do go go in the evening but it's pretty expensive, about L9 as I recall more if you want to go on the rides.
I loved Copenahgen and there are SO many other wonderful things to do, go to the Danish Design Centre which is just over the road and 100 times better.
