great venue, not just a musuem

I wasn't sure I was going to make the trip to see this musuem until I read a few positive reviews. Now I add my voice and say this is a must-go. It's about US$30 for a round-trip train ticket, and if you buy your train tik from a person at the counter, you can get entry into the musuem included with your train tik. While the musuem itself is a great collection of modern and contemporary art (Giacometti, Ernst, Bill Viola, to name a few), the grounds are amazing. The musuem encircles a private park and overlooks the sea. I saw locals bring their own picnic baskets, and you can sit among some world-class sculptures in the musuem park while you eat lunch. Don't miss the Lake Garden, which is part of the museum; it's a pond surrounded by trees, and among the trees you will find more art. The combination of nature and art here makes this musuem a rare find.
Perfect to those who loves arts and a cosy environment

Breathtakingly beautiful

We spent a glorious day at the Louisiana Art Museum. The weather was perfection which accentuated the beauty of the environment. We saw an excellent Richard Avedon exhibit but more impressive were the grounds- a blend of art, landscape and nature. Only a 30 minute train ride from Copenhagen.
must see
