Excellent, fun cooking class

We have just got back to the B&B after a great day with Yui (U-e) at her cooking class, VERY full stomachs and loaded with tips to improve our cooking skills. We were collected and taken to a local market to learn about Thai vegetables and cooking ingredients, then back to Yui's house to start cooking. Then followed 6 easy and fun Thai dishes to prepare and time to chat with the other guests. We were then all dropped back at our hotels by Yui and her husband. No cooking skills necessary, Yui is very patient and spends as much time as necessary to get everyone through the dishes successfully. A great way to spend a day in Chiang Mai....

A great activity with a wonderful teacher

I just returned from Chiang Mai and spent 2 great days attending cooking school at A Lot of Thai. Plan on leaving your hotel hungry and returning full after 7hrs of cooking, eating, and socializing with others that share the same passion for food. During both days a local Thai personal chef attended as a student to expand his knowledge. This is a testament to the local reputation that Yui has in the community. During the 2 days, highlights included making red curry paste from scratch with a mortar and pestle, and a wet market tour that included a stop to buy Thai Ice Coffee for 15baht. This was all in addition to making 6 dishes each day.

A lot of fun

We all had a brilliant time with Yui at her house cooking 3 Thai dishes. Yui is a lovely lady with loads of enthusiam. Myself my husband and three teenage children really enjoyed the day. the dishes we produced were delicious. The tour around the market very interesting if a little long for the teenagers. Yui picked us up in her VW camper van(on tme) from the hotel. We were all given a lovely cookery book produced by her husband so no need to write the recipes down. A very enjoyable afternoon.

A must-attend Chiang Mai experience

This was one of our trip highlights! Yui is fantastic - she has so much energy, and such a great attitude towards food and cooking. We cooked about seven meals (and ate each one...let's just say I didn't eat dinner that night) over the day. The meals were so incredibly simple and so delicious! This represents excellent value for money, at only 1000 BAHT, the course ran from about 9:30-3:30 and included a free cookbook. I am so excited to cook these meals at home, and definately will do so soon. This is a must-attend activity for anyone wanting to have lots of laughs and memorable experience in Chiang Mai.

Brilliant day for all the family!

Yui and her family are well worth a visit! We went yesterday and spent the day at Yui's home. From being picked up at our hotel until being dropped off again we had a great experience. We all (me, my husband & 21 year old daughter and friend) all had a superb day and learnt a lot. We have spent all day buying kaffir lime leaves and galangal root to take home!
