Ok, but these reviews flatter it somewhat

Went to Toscana 21 a month or so ago for the first time. The dishes were nice but extremely simple (I.e pasta and cheese, or pasta and tomato sauce) and there was a lack of vegetables, extras to go with the food. As such, it seemed like something one could make at hoe fairly easily. All in all, it seemed as if we were being charged for what was essentially 95% pasta with a few trimmings on top. Worse was that one of our party has a wheat allergy and had brought with him his wheat free pasta. His dish comprised of his own pasta and some cheese sprinkled on top and he was charged the full 15 Euros for this. (We didn't feel this was right). The atmosphere was OK - quite small and cosy but nothing too special/romantic. I wanted to say I really like this restaurant as the couple running it are really nice. But the number 2 spot in restaurants in Brussels on Tripadvisor flatters it severely (!) and at the end of the day, it does not offer much value for money or a memorable dining experience.

No doubts, this is the best Italian restaurant in Bruxelles. Real food, real good, real italian. No compromise!

I'll spent a long night in the restaurant....cool and friendly service and REALLY GREAT FOOD!!! Ps. The desserts are one of the most good things I've tried!!! REAL TIRAMISU!!!!!

We have been there today and it was a fantastic lunch. The products originally from the Italy brought by the owner himself. Absolutely to try. It is hard to find such a level of cuisine in Italy. Wonderful food, pleasant atmosphere, nice place, gentile service.

The food quality was excellent, house wine also very good. The staff was not very happy though when we mentioned we are going to order a-la-carte instead of the christmas menu. Although on the phone they had told me we are free to do so. However, I would visit it again for great tortelloni and tiramisu.
