Very nice square with beautiful, richly decorated buildings. Perfect place to eat a Belgium waffle and look at all the tourist on the square.
The square was smaller than I thought, but much more nicer in reality to see al the buildings together around the place than individually on a picture or so.
Don't forget to rub the statue of Evrard t Serclaes!

The architecture is really neat to look at, but it's also a main activity spot. When I arrived there were people walking around with signs saying 'hugs for free'. At 10:30 and 11pm every night there is a 12 minute light show on the mayor's house. It's also a great place to people watch.
Beautiful square

The Grand Place is the beautiful central square of Brussels surrounded by amazing buildings.
For me the most impressive building was the Brussels Town Hall, which is about 100 metres tall. Itīs a gothic building, built in the Middle ages.
I have been at a lot of different town squares in cities all over Europe, but this is the most beautiful square Iīve ever visited.
The Grand Place is full of nice restaurants, although a little pricey!
A tip: donīt miss the fantastic light show on summer evenings.
Best Square ever!

I have been to many great squares in my travels to Europe and without doubt this was the most amazing of them all. Like with most squares, it is usually very busy and full of tourist but it is so large that they disperse well and you still can get some great shots of the gothic buildings that surround you. Another thing I noticed is how clean it was, no pigeons like in Venice. My first impression was very awe inspiring. I've heard it was a beautiful square but it was more amazing than that. It was, well, Grand!
Good but not great

Worth a visit.
If you are eating there in the evening, beware as eating out is very expensive, so go for the tourist menu (sometimes you have to ask for it but one is usually forthcoming)
Without doubt best value for money.
