Outstanding Rio Private Tour Guide - Manu Peclat

Two ladies on our first trip to Rio?..what an exciting city! We had a wonderful time. The Rio area is full of beautiful sites, interesting restaurants, welcoming people, and colorful entertainment. How fortunate we were to have had Manu as our personal tour guide. Manu shared his enthusiasm and extensive knowledge of Brazil, and the city of Rio. He is a perfect host with an excellent command of English. He is eager to make sure that each of his clients has a customized experience appropriate to their wishes, and available time. Although our visit was relatively short, having ?our? personal tour guide enabled us to cover a lot of ground without feeling rushed, and we felt as though we were seeing the city accompanied by a long time friend. How do I say this without it sounding like an advertisement, a promotion or an undercover business owner promoting their business? Unfortunately there is no other way to tell you about Manu Peclat of Carioca Way of Life Tours, other than to tell you exactly why we appreciated his services and why we most certainly will use him again if we ever find ourselves once again in Rio. We used Manu?s services from August 12 ? 18, 2010 while vacationing in Rio. It is obvious Manu cares about Rio and was very excited to show us ?his City?. He didn?t just cruise by the major attractions ? as most tour groups do and we weren?t grouped together like a herd of cattle. Our tour was private, in a comfortable air conditioned van; and he took his time and made sure we were ready to go before moving on to the next tour. He was very animated when reciting the history of Rio and had excellent timing on photo ops. We could easily tell this wasn?t some sort of shtick, Manu actually loves Rio! Also, although most of our tours were part of a schedule he provided for us; so much more were not. We walked away with a rich history of Rio by simply doing one thing?.whenever Manu would say? ?Guys, can I show you something???..we let him?.and we NEVER regretted it for one minute! Of the times that we didn?t have tours scheduled, he would provide us with directions and options for whatever we wanted to do and would often call and check on us to make sure we arrived at our destination and made it back to the hotel safely! IMO, as a tourist you will never see all of Rio, but with a Carioca like Manu Peclat; you will surely feel like you had! P.S. Manu, we hope Kevin aced his test! We had a wonderful half day tour conducted by Manu. Manu met us at our hotel and showed us some of the main sights in Rio, the trip was tailor made in terms of what we wanted to see. It was great having such a knowledgable tour guide who also spoke such good English - hard to find in Rio!!! This trip really helped to make our holiday special as we did not feel overcharged - unilke some of the organised tours on offer from the hotels, we had already been overcharged by the local taxi drivers which is not a great introduction to the area. Would highly recommend organising a trip with Manu if you are in Rio and want a personal service, either half or full day trips available. Would advise to make contact in advanced as Manu can get booked up and you really would not want to miss out.... manu.peclat@gmail.com

i recently returned from a business trip to Rio and for my free day to see the city I had Manu Peclat as my tour guide. He was fantastic, very proud of his city and tought me a lot as we drove around. It was nice to have someone so personable and who spoke fluent English as my guide. I highly recommend him for anyone wanting to see the sights of Rio from a local's perspective. On another note, he also speaks fluent Spanish as well as English.

Manu is the best tour guide in Rio, by far!

I just returned from 3 nights in Rio. I was not sure how I would see everything in only 3 days, and was also not sure the best way to to it, and be safe. I read a few reviews about Manu on TripAdvisor the night before I left, and I'm glad I did. I emailed him, and arranged to meet him the next day, once I got there. I had a few work colleagues with me, so they also joined us for some of the tours. Rio is simply amazing! And, much of it is thanks to Manu. I was able to see all the sites, and go directly to the front of the line. Everything was perfect! Manu also knows great restaurants, beaches, bars, etc. He's more then just a tour guide, but a friend on the ground who you can trust.
