This is a great Restaurant close to one of my favourite areas in Rio, the location and the views are great and the food, well the best meat you can eat in Brazil, prepare to eat a lot so it's better to go for lunch than for dinner. I suggest you try all the meat we cannot get everyday in an average restaurant like Cupim (delicious meat from the hump of the Brahma Bull) and avoid the average chicken or pork. Nothing better than have some natural fruit juices with the meal which are delicious and cheap in Brazil (Pinneaple with Mint, Caja, papaya with orange, or some typical local beer which are light options with the heavy food anf for desert try the Papaya mouss with Cassis liquer which is a good option for digestion. Then enjoy a wonderful day in this lovely country.
A must do in Rio

Everyone that visits Rio should try this typical Brazilian BBQ, it is the best one in town, definitely! Amazing meat, nice and efficient service, try not to eat too fast so that you enjoy every kind of meat the offer! You'll love it!
Met Expectations

We had a great meal here - if you've been to Fogo de Chao in US then you know what to expect here. Buffet was extensive and everything was well prepared. Rotating meats were very good and service was great. While everything was great the special part of this meal for me was that it was in Rio overlooking Sugar Loaf. If there were no windows it could have been at my local Fogo de Chao in Chicago.

Iconic restaurant

I've been to Porcao Rio em Flamengo probably a dozen times and i would have to say it is a quintessential experience when you are a tourist in Rio. It is also just a popular with locals so on any given day it looks like United nations in there. It narrolwly misses out on five stars from me because once, just once, the seafood in the buffet wasn't quite up to standard.
The food in Brazil is sometimes lacking in flair and creativity. You won't find micro portions of fusion cuisine on the menu here or elsewhere (maybe in Sao Paulo?) . It makes up for it in freshness and quaility however. The buffet is superb and includes seafood, cheeses, salads, cold cuts and sushi. The meat is absolutely to die for. I've never had better elsewhere. I always leave feeling sick because I've eaten far too much.
Drinks are good (but pricey) and include the best caiprinha you are ever likely to try. The range of wine by the glass is dissapointing however.
The other wonderful, wonderful feature of this restaurant (that influenced by desicion to return there so often) is the fully supervised children's playroom. You can basically drop off your kids there and let then play for hours whilst you eat to your heart's content. All restaurants should have one!
