My husband and I loved our dinner at Straw Hat while on our honeymoon on Anguilla. We think our meal at Straw Hat was one of the best we had on the island. Sitting right next to the ocean was beautiful as well.
Wonderful staff, food, and ambiance is the essence of The Straw Hat.

We have just returned to Weymouth, Massachusetts from a wonderful nine day vacation in Anquilla.
Staying at the Turtle?s Nest made dining at the Straw Hat an easy choice for we walked from ?The Nest?. After experiencing your ambiance and food, it became even easier.
Your staff and personal welcome and attention make each visit a special one. We particularly enjoyed dancing on the patio as the sun set.
Favorite Meal on the Island...Twice!

We've just returned from our second visit to Anguilla and can't say enough about The Straw Hat! We were a party of 4 staying right next door at Mead's Bay Villas and wandered over for dinner, without a reservation, mostly because it was close by and convenient. We were given a really lovely table outside, right at the edge of the patio near the beach. The special that night of grilled grouper & crayfish was hands down the best meal any of us have ever had in the Caribbean! We also really enjoyed the seafood spring rolls, red curry prawns and crayfish that evening. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to return for a second dinner...which we never do as we like to try as many different restaurants as we can on vacation! That night we had lobster, more crayfish and steaks, which were excellent for the Caribbean! That night was my mom's birthday and even though she was too full to order dessert, they brought out sorbet with sparklers for her! Of all the restaurants we visited this week (including Veya, Jacala, Cap Jaluca), The Straw Hat was definitely our fav!

Peter Parles does it right. He is the consummate professional. The setting on Mead's Bay is fantastic. The Ti Punch is second best on island (sorry, Sandbar is the best)..I had crayfish that was amazing. Service was a little chilly at the bar but the waiter made up for it. This is a consistent bet in the Anguilla dining scene. I had a lovely breakfast here as well.
Breakfast or dinner, Straw Hat suits us just great!

On this trip we ate twice at Straw Hat?once for breakfast and once for dinner?and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves both times. I like ordering the continental breakfast when we go there because the pastries are always so flaky and buttery, and my husband ordered the pancakes this time, which were perfectly light & fluffy. Two coffees, two orange juices, a side of bacon, and a side of sausage brought our breakfast to about US $35. Throw in that stunning location right on Meads Bay and it all adds up to a bargain!
What a fun place this is for dinner, too! Unpretentious, nice location, and doing a great job of walking that fine line where a relaxed atmosphere meets upscale dining. It also consistently has the most congenial staff that we?ve met with on the island, which earns high marks from us. We began with a house salad (DH) and the warm tomato tart (me). The salad was good but nothing out of the ordinary, but mine was really quite excellent, with the ripe tomato flavor just bursting on the palate. DH moved on to the curried goat (outstandingly succulent) while I had the lobster & crayfish spring rolls (very good?and the appetizer portion was just right for me). For dessert we shared the banana bread pudding, which was also very good, particularly the rich caramel sauce topping. I had a glass of their trademark ?ti punch, which was my favorite rum drink on the island this trip. (NB: I don?t know how Peter did it, but he recognized us as repeat customers,
he knew, he said, ?Weren?t you here last year?? Just chalk it up to my husband, who looks like Santa Claus, I suppose.)
Straw Hat will always be a destination for us when in Anguilla, and maybe one of these days we?ll get there for lunch, too!
