Sam's by the Sea (Awase) is a rustic, warf atmosphered resturant located along the Pacific Coast of Okinawa. Our last visit was August 1, 2008. We arrived without reservations, not recommended, but were immediately seated. The wait staff was exceptional. They never hovered or interrupted, but they were immediately at the table as soon as something was finished or needed. Most of the staff is Okinawan, but most are able to speak English, so there is no language barrier for those who are not familiar with the local language. The food arrived at the table with out any wait time between courses. The food was served hot and was unbelievably delicious. Every single item on our plates was beautifully presented, and was genuinely flavorful. They have an extensive seafood and steak menu with various price ranges. There is plenty of parking available, and it is definately worth the drive. 5 stars!
