my new favorite excursion
Reviewed by A TripAdvisor Member on Oct 18, 2008

My wife and I visited grand cayman on Oct 13 while on our carnival cruise. I had booked our tour with Mobydick Tours about 3 weeks before we left . three of our friends on the cruise also booked the tour with us. The reviews from tripadvisor helped me make a decision to try mobydick tours and they were exactly right. Mobydick tours was way beyond anything we had expected. Although the weather was cloudy and it rained on the way out to the reef, what the heck we were going to wet any way. Marcus and Will were great guides and explained everything we needed to know and gave much attention to everyone on the boat, about 30. We went to the reef 1st to snorkel and I took a underwater camera, the pictures came out great. From there we went to the sandbar were the fun began. Marcus and Will got in the water with us and helped eveyone engage with the stingrays. They could even identify the stringrays by name. We got to feed, hold and kiss the stinrays-seven years of good luck. The time went by too fast-but there is always next time. Definitely will be doing it again and will use Mobydick tours.

A must do! Totally the best excursion of our trip!!!!!!!

We went to the Western Carribean on the Carnival Inspiration in September and made our reservations on Moby Dick Tours a couple of weeks before our cruise! I had an easy time making reservations on the web, and they answered all our questions and we even had to change our arrival time, due to the ship's change of arrival.(They let us know that would not be a problem) When we stepped off the ship Moby Dick Tour's was waiting in the blue shirts as specified in the e-mail. We boarded a van with a very friendly and informative guide (Kristin), she showed us many popular sites of the island on our way to the boat. Once we arrived to the boat, we met up with the owner (Mark) and one more guide (Nicholas)! They explained about the sting rays and how to handle them, very informative. We just had a total of 8-10 people on our excursion, so much better than Carnival's Excursion which is usually up to 50-100 people per excursion. Our first stop was the reef and snorkeling, the fish were amazing, just beautiful, the water was breathtaking! After about a 45 minutes of snorkeling, we left for Sting Ray Bay. Mark lowered the anchor and out he went to round up stingrays for us to handle, to see. They are just amazing and they came from everywhere. We held them, kissed them, rubbed them, just amazing! By far our best excursion on the trip! The tour ended with plenty of time to do some shopping in the town and they dropped us back off at the port. It is so worth the money, and by far exceeded our expectations! A must do on your stop in Grand Cayman!!!!!

Amazing experience with Stingrays

What an incredible experience my husband and I had on Oct 6, 2008. I have to confess, I didn?t know what to expect... but as soon as we got to the boat we were greeted by Nick and William so well, I knew we were in good hands! Both are very nice guys, treated us all VERY well? not only that but BOTH of them came in the water with us and made sure the whole group got a little taste of holding the stingrays in our arms. I was more interacted with Will since he had tons of patients with me, as I kept asking him to get a stingray for me so i could hold it! Haha! While my husband was entertained by Nick telling all about stingrays and when I say ?all?? I mean ALL? EVERYTHING about stingray! It was awesome! This was one of the best experiences of my life (1st was swimming with dolphins) ? I will never forget it!! Moby Dick Tours is definitely a must in Grand Cayman! p.s. I was also very afraid to come so close to a stingray but really? they are like little cats meowing at you asking for food and affection? they are gorgeous and very docile! Dont miss this opportunity if you are going to Grand Cayman!

Best Stingray City Tour
Reviewed by A TripAdvisor Member on Oct 13, 2008

After some research online, Moby Dick Tours seemed to clearly have the best and most complete feedback I could find. We were already at see on our cruise when I decided to book a space and I did not have very good access to communications. I filled out the reservation form online and they were terrific about responding to my request. When we got off the cruise ship in Grand Cayman the Moby Dick tent was easy to find once we made our way past all of the other vendors begging us to try them instead. Once we left the port it was only a short ride to the marina to board the boat an head out for Stingray City. The crew was fantastic and the overall experience was top notch. I would highly recommend Moby Dick Tours to anyone.

Breathtaking!

I was very impressed with the entire experience! The crew of "Moby Dick" was very helpful, they explained everything in detail. I was also impressed by the way the crew settled the nerves of several people uneasy about the experience. They did a great job of explaining the reasons, and "kinetics" of a stingray sting, and how unlikely it really is. Snorkling was amazing, the crew jumped in the water and was happy to assist with anything they could. Stingray City was obviously the best part, and once again, the crew was more than willing to help everybody on the tour get involved with handling, touching, and kissing the stingrays... it's 7 years good luck ya know! I would definately take another tour with these guys.
