Coffee, Smoothies and Light Lunch

If you're in the Rincon area, you must stop at this cyber-cafe for a cup of coffee and a light bite. The primary motive for coming here is the coffee. Generally, we found the coffee in Puerto Rico to be much more flavorful than your average coffee on the mainland (US). Tthe coffee at bananadang was among the best we had on the island - it's an art form, figuratively and literally. (The barista topped my wife's capuccino with a very intricate leaf design.) The rest of the menu, though quite limited in quantity - smoothies, a couple of sandwiches, some sweets - is top notch in quality. We regret that we only made it here once during our visit.

An adventurous person I am...I decided to go to Rincon, Puerto Rico...this summer......and looking all over Rincon....I was craving a smoothie.....I looked on the map and saw...Banana Dang! Hmmmm...sounds pretty good...took myself over there...and boy o boy...didn't want to step out of the place! The Nutty DANG....a smoothie sooo delicious, I went back the same DAY!! And the wonderful Eggspresso for Breakfast and a nice Cappincino too while your on the internet checking for email!! If you decide to go to Puerto Rico....go to Banana Dang, you will ask for seconds! I

We visited Rincon in May, 2008 and stubled upon a real gem. I was quite concerned when my husband said we were going to a rural island paradise for vacation. What would I do without my morning Latte? Well, the withdrawls only lasted a day or two until we stubmled upon one of the best Latte's I have ever experienced. We found Banana Dang in the late afternoon, so I decided to be adventurous and try the Vietnamese Latte (an iced drink). It was sooooo yummy and really hit the spot!! My husband enjoyed a banana smoothie and said it was refreshing and delicious. We were so impressed that we visited Banana Dang every day (sometimes more than once) during the 5 days we were there. As others have attested to, the "eggspresso" sandwich was delicious and the homemade banana bread was a special treat. If you ever visit Rincon, don't miss this place. It was a real lifesaver and truly one of the best Latte's I have ever had. If we ever get back to Rincon, we will definitely put Banana Dang on the top of the "must do" list.

I dropped in for a morning pick me up and saw a local order an eggpresso. Had to have one...so yummy! Something about that bread. That sandwich and coffee hit the spot. Love the decor. Later that week, I came by for the internet. It was a nice reprieve from the sun. Sat, chilled, enjoyed my smoothie. Kinda nice to have somewhere inside to hang inside other than the condo. Bought a t-shirt and without fail get a compliment each time I wear it, LOL.

Unfortunately I wasn't in Rincon long enough to sample everything they offer but if I could have I would have. My impression about Bananadang my first time there was "Here is a place, so rare in today's marketplace, that actually cares about putting forth a great product." They care about good coffee and it shows, and smells, and tastes. For a quick breakfast before hitting the beach I would suggest the eggspresso panini. Non-coffee drinkers in the family rave about the smoothies. Overall, I would say that Bananadang is excellent and I will be sure to visit the next time I am in town.
